Alternatives · On-prem capture
This is the comparison that flatters us least, and we would rather write it ourselves: Java, Linux-capable, on-premises, batch classes, classification, extraction, validation, scripting, ECM export — much of the same ground, held since long before this project started. What changed is who owns it, and what a renewal now looks like.
A Transact site facing a Tungsten renewal. Consolidation under one owner tends to arrive with one price list.

Figures for Ephesoft Transact are published list bands and analyst-reported contract benchmarks checked in August 2026 — not quotes, and not vendor-confirmed. Your negotiated price will differ.
Batch classes map cleanly onto projects, workflows and document templates; the scripting you already own has an equivalent here, and export targets are configuration rather than code.
Next step
Including the fields we lose on. That is the only comparison worth having against a two-decade incumbent.
A bake-off is a paid engagement at our standard consulting rate, scoped and quoted before it starts and running one to two days, two at most — not a free trial. The report is yours whichever way it lands.
